That's pretty neat - aren't they protected in Maine ?
I've heard a few over the years, while hunting - but have never laid eyes on one in the wild.

We supposedly have them in the Cascades and foothills, but I've never seen one. We're rife with cougars, bears, and bobcats, too, but never seen one of those either. Probably because I buy tags for them.

I heard one back in about 1964 here in southern Indiana, and saw one maybe 6 months later. None since then, but as I understand it they are back in this area.
