I came down with a bad case of seller's remorse, after I sold a .50 cal rocklock long rifle to another forum member - so I partially assuaged it with these two Thompson's, a Renegade .54 and a Hawken/Green Mountain .32:
And, I've had this steel-framed 1860 Army .44 for years:

Re: OT lets see you Black Powder burners
The little turd! I tell him about the post. I take the picture for him. I put it on Photobucket for him. I copy the code for him. I let him log in on my computer this morning. And what thanks do I get?!?
Okay, sorry for the delay. Yes, I have a few black powder burners - not counting any black powder cartridge guns, here we go:
Here are most of my BP long guns. Top to bottom, a Hopkins & Allen flinter in .45 caliber, a Navy Arms Zoave in .58 caliber, my Traditions Hawken in, what else? .50 caliber. And a "homemade" (by someone else) blunderbuss of .69 caliber (after the bell).
Not shown above, because it's hanging in my office, is my Pedersoli 1766 Charleville.
Moving on to handguns, here's the family portrait:
I know - lousy picture.
From the top, a pair of Traditions "William Parker Pistols" in .50 caliber.
Then down the left side, starting at the top with a Pietta "Lemat Cavalry" model and a Pietta "Texas Paterson".
My Ruger Old Army "Horse Pistol", bought from rjohns94 here, and my Uberti "Remington 1858 New Model Army". This one came with a R&C conversion cylinder to .45 Colt (from .44 blackpowder).
A trio of Pietta's, starting with the Starr 1858 Double-Action, followed by a "Griswold & Gunnison" "Reb Model Sheriff" in .44 caliber, and wrapping up with a "Colt 1860 Snubnose".
Up next, a CVA "Remington Pocket Revolver" in .31 caliber and a Traditions "Philadelphia Derringer" in .45 caliber.
At the bottom of the pile are a pair from Classic Arms, with the "Ethan Allen Pepperbox" in .36 caliber on top, and the "Elgin Cutlass Pistol" in .44 caliber on the bottom.
In the middle of the bunch is another Classic Arms one, the "Ducksfoot", in .36 caliber.
Above that is my shoulder stock for the 1860 Colt Army clone coming up.
Starting at the upper right, and working down, is a pair of "big boys", an Armi San Marco "Colt 1847 Walker Dragoon", and an Uberti "Colt Second Model Dragoon", both in .44 caliber.
These are followed by a Centennial "1960 New Model Army" (a Colt 1860 Army clone), and a Pietta "1851 Colt Navy London", both again in .44 caliber.
Then we have an Uberti "Colt 1851 Navy" and a Pietta "Colt 1861 Navy", both in .36 caliber. The laminated grips on the latter will hopefully be going this year!
Now comes a pair of Uberti's, the top being a "Colt 1862 Police", a 5-shot .36 caliber, and then the "Colt 1848 Pocket" in .31 caliber.
Lastly, not pictured above, because it too resides in my office, is a Dixie Gun Works "Tower Pistol" in .69 caliber.
See, I have a reason for being so tardy!!!

Re: OT lets see you Black Powder burners
I have to admit I was not overly impressed when they arrived. The rear sight on one was badly tilted. I sent it back and they repaired it, but scratched the barrel a bit doing it. These are neat and affordable target single shots. A "dueling range" they will more than do the trick. Haven't tried them further than that yet.jumbeaux wrote:YK...how do you like the William Parker's....been studying on them for awhile. I've always loved cap & ball revolvers. Just can't get enough of them. I like to shoot them too, so collecting the real things - at the prices they command - just isn't in the cards right now. My hands down favorite though is the 1860 clone. To me, it is simply the best combination of power, balance and asthetics. Then again, I haven't fired the ROA yet. Just too perfect condition right now...

Extremely impressive, YK and Y2K!! If I ever wake up and find I slipped through a time warp back to the 1860's, I hope I have the good sense to be on your side!

OK, I'll play.
Here are my Cap and Ball revolvers:
Uberti 1851 36 Cal
Pietta 1860 44 Cal
Pietta 1858 Target 44 Cal
And here's one of my ML's - probably the nicest looking:
That's a CVA Mountain Rifle 50 Cal - one of the older ones with the Douglas barrels.
I've got a few other rifles - a TC Omega 50 cal., TC Renegade 50 Cal, old H&R Huntsman 58 Cal (mod'd to take 209's) and another CVA Mountain Rifle with 58 Cal rifled barrel.

A late entry because I only got it yesterday.
Colt 1849 Pocket Model manufactured about 1860. Not much silver plating left but the stagecoach scene is all there and the bore is great - should make a good shooter.

Re: OT lets see you Black Powder burners
Nath,
If people know you collect old guns they point you towards all sorts of interesting stuff. Unfortunately much of it is highly illegal but sometimes something good turns up. Last month I had to turn down an original Colt Lightning in 50-70. I could have legally owned it as an obsolete caliber antique but I could never shoot it as pump action rifles are prohibited weapons thanks to our crazy laws.
Glad to se that the sling fitted ok. I found another one while clearing out my loading room so if you get a musketoon let me know and I will send it up.

Re: OT lets see you Black Powder burners
Nice to see an old thread, Born Again.
Here is my 1861 Navy CVA kit gun. It was started by the original owner 30 years ago but never completed. I was gifted the piece Three years ago, it was in the original box and all parts were there, except the front sight. I completed the piece, and decided to leave it as was given to me. Nipples were replaced with Tresco competition. The piece shoots very well.

So what photo hosting service shows a picture of a kitten with the message "Photo Not Found" "Click for Photos"? 39 instances of it in this thread do far. Village photos doesn't work either.
