Some PC crowd would holler intolerance due to the fact that the minutemen has semiautos and the red coats only have front loaders.
Something similar that I received in an email this morning.
From onenewsnow.com
Gun-control advocates claim that banning guns reduces incidences of gun-related violence. But a gun-ownership rights group says the nation's capital is a perfect example of how just the opposite is true.
Police in the District of Columbia have increased patrols city-wide because of a rash of shootings. The city has recorded more than 50 homicides this year, 19 in April alone. The nation's capital also has one of the most far-reaching gun bans in the country. In contrast, the murder rate just across the Potomac River in northern Virginia is only a fraction of that in Washington.
So why are so many people dying from shootings in DC? Erich Pratt with Gun Owners of America believes he knows why. He argues against gun-control advocates who claim the firearms are coming into the area from northern Virginia.
"Well, if that's the case then why aren't the guns a problem in northern Virginia, [where] the murder rate is only a fraction of what it is in Washington, DC?" he asks. "Even though the northern Virginia area has twice the population, we have only a fraction of the murder rate -- and that's because the potential victims [in Virginia] can arm themselves."
Guns, says Pratt, are not a problem in northern Virginia because "bad guys would rather take the guns into a place where they know they're not going to be opposed and [they know] they're going to be the only one with a gun."
Pratt says as a rule, thugs do not target areas where they know people can shoot back. They target inner cities that have gun bans, he contends, as well as university campuses that have been declared "gun free."

(A) - C - G - D - E (2x)
CHORUS:
A
Black powder and alcohol,
D
When the states and the cities fall,
G E
When your back is against the wall;
A
Black powder and alcohol.
A
Gimme charcoal to the measure two:
F
Send the bullet where you want it to.
D
Gimme sulphur to the measure three:
A
Make the powder gonna keep you free.
G E
Gimme saltpetre, measure fifteen:
A
Sweetest shooting that you've ever seen! (chorus)
Gimme water, yeast, and veggie-trash:
Leave it sitting in the slurry-mash.
When it's ready, put it in the still:
If you can't heat it, then the sunlight will.
Draw the alcohol away, and then
Put the slurry back, and start again! (chorus)
Booze'll clean your cuts, or run your car.
You can make it anywhere you are.
Black powder in your cartridge shell
Will send the robbers running clean to Hell.
You can make them if you just know how.
So kids, remember what I tell you now! (chorus & repeat
chorus)

While I have much affinity for the M16, I'm thinking those boys would have rather had 240B's, M14's, and some AT4's. Just my take.

You guys are all wrong. The founding fathers were debating all the other Bill of Rights stuff, about the all-important balance of power between citizen and government, and some redneck in back raised his hand and said: "Hey, y'all needs to put one of them 'mendment things in sayin' about how we gets to hunt deer, and go target shooting and stuff." Well, since that was a very hot item of debate at the time, due to early PETA activists and environmentalists concerned with lead pollution at the many formal shooting ranges, they debated it awhile. The consensus was that it would be ok, but ONLY as long as the guns were of a type "PARTICULARLY suitable for 'sporting purposes'" Of course support was unanimous, mostly due to the NRA lobbyists who were present, but later on, the founders put in the part saying "militia" so we'd know it meant the NATIONAL GUARD, which didn't exist at the time, but the founders knew it was coming down the pike. They knew some would say that the federalization of the National Guard would render it the OPPOSITE of a "militia" so they threw in the word "people" just to make sure we knew it was really not the "people" - but the "government" they were referring to who could deer hunt and target shoot. See, they were so wrapped up in hunting that they didn't pay much attention to distinguishing between the "government" and the "people" since the Bill of Rights didn't have anything to do with those kinds of things, except for the first, and third through tenth amendments, which were exceptions.
Makes perfect sense to me.
That's what the PUBLIC SCHOOLS teach now, more or less, which is scary...
