Scrap cartridge brass
Does scrap cartridge brass have any value, or should I just throw it away?

Some of the yards here will buy it, some won't even touch it.

Re: Scrap cartridge brass
It was $1.60?/# last time I sold. I keep any brass I find, store in a bucket until I get a few full. You have to decide the hassle factor, but for me its a fun money savings account. A bucket of 22 brass weighs 38#.

Re: Scrap cartridge brass
I trade my scrap brass (must be clean, no primers) for lead... get # for #.

Re: Scrap cartridge brass
Not a bad idea.
The last time I sold any scrap brass was back in Phx, AZ. As long as it was fired they didn't care about the primers. I haven't found or had enough brass fail to make even one 5 gal bucket since then.

Re: Scrap cartridge brass
Same here. I can't find a scrapyard that will take scrap brass from cartridges.

Re: Scrap cartridge brass
I get $50-$60 per five gallon bucket full at a local scrap metal recycler. They even take the spent primers as long as they are brass.
