Giving my Bee the best of me (Sorry Tycer)
Spent some time at the lead pot yesterday using the 6-cavity Lee .225 - 55 mould. Then today I took a picture for posting over on "Castboolits" and figured this bunch would appreciate the same picture. Browning 65 I bought a few years ago from fellow levergunner mod71alaska.

I've never cast anything that small. I think my fat fingers would fail me

Nah, you don't even touch the bullets until you run them through the sizer. And if you are using a Star sizer the hardest part is sliding a gas check over on top of the bullet base as you get ready to make the "down" stroke on the handle. Much easier to process 22 casties than to -- say reload 380 ACP.
$40 for a 6- cavity Lee. If Lee makes it in a bullet you want you can't beat it. These are GREAT moulds. And if Lee doesn't make it we have several makers (NOE, Accurate, Arsenal ....) who produce GREAT moulds and a 5-cavity doesn't cost much more than a 2-cavity, so why would you use anything less? This batch of bullets took 2 1/2 hours total casting time (two sessions of 1 1/4 hours each 'cause that's all my back wants to tolerate) to produce about 1700 bullets of which I doubt I lose 1% during processing (that's when I inspect). This is a wonderful era to be a bullet caster, other than the loss of the lead wheelweight to the sweeties at the EPA.Bill in Oregon wrote: Me, I typically cast a few dozen and call it good.
