This is the guy that does it. http://gunmaker.biz/about_us

He only wants around $10,000.00 to make one just for you.

pedersoli mad ethem a few years back for some historic group; i got one when they closed them out and it is a beauty and sperbly accurate. the price was less than $1000.00 on the close out. they are around. also some of the makers in montana will do them as well.

Saw that. Thank ye. The one looks pretty nice, the other looks a bit odd as it only has one barrel wedge??

I have been thinking about a Gemmer for a couple years now... but a Shiloh seems like more than I want to spend. I have a friend that scratch builds golden age flintlocks... He says if I buy 2 Italian Sharps, and give him one, he will restock the other as a Gemmer with high grade wood.
That winds up being pricey as well... :?

If only I were talented... or wealthy. :D

I've been studying what I can find out there...I keep hearing how complicated they are, but to me it doesn't look any more complicated than fashioning a foreend with barrel tennons. It is routinely done when building flinters...

If you are dedicated to the Sharps, then that is all that will do, but Gemmer did make sporting rifles out of many comercially available guns at the time. My favorite is the trapdoor Gemmers. I have an original 1868 50-70 action I want to build into a trapdoor Gemmer. Uses nearly all Hawken type parts including lock and hammer.

Just something to think about,.....
