Hummmm!!
I may have been educated myself here.
The first 5 of my serial number: 13123** "1941 end of year serial number was 1313301 (CFM), 1191307 (Madis)"
Now I have to remember where I came up with 1943.
Looks like you are ready and any legal deer is in trouble!
I have had my scout mounted 94 out several times but the herd seems thin were I have permission this year.

I agree.
Assuming the receiver is pre-drilled for it, try a Williams or Lyman aperture sight first before drilling and tapping any holes for a glass handle. They are amazingly effective, even with older eyes. Being 1920s, though, the receiver may not be pre-drilled on the left side for such sights. I can't recall the year they started doing so.

It's all in perception.
The old timers were after the optical advantage back in the day as well.
You gotta admit, this 73 has a total cool factor to it.
This maybe my next project.
