I don't usually buy guns from Cabelas this was in the gun library I fell in love with it today and most likely paid a little to much. The rifle is like it just came from the factory, not one mark on it. Savage 1899 Take Down 250-3000
That is SOooo nice.
I once, no twice owned a 99F in 250 so I know how sweetly it shoots. Mine was not a take-down, nowhere near the condition of yours and didn't have that Lyman sight yet I loved it.

GREAT find! Would you tell us the ballpark you paid for it?
Well Cabelas had a one day 10 percent off guns in the library so with tax and all the other fees it was $1200. I really didn't think that was all that high considering some of the nice later 99's are going for $700 to$900

Thanks. Considering how nice it was I'd say it's worth it!
It's pretty hard to pay too much for one that nice! Plenty of guys have paid that much for one of them plastic and aluminum black spray paint thingy rifles. Now that's a beaut. I'd be proud to own it. Ya done good!
I think You did real Good on that one. Pay the Money and Cry only Once. If We could buy New 99's that had the quality of the old ones for that price I know a whole bunch of people who would be lined up. Enjoy.

For those in New England who want something very close to that one, Kittery Trading Post has a nice takedown Savage 99 in 250-3000 -- with a Lyman tang sight (but not a windage adjustable version) -- for $1,195.
But it's clearly been refinished and is not original.............
Based on that, I'd say Mossyoal1957 did well on his.
