Been roughing it for a while.

Seemed pretty happy to have a warm bed

He wasn't impressed with his bath

After a couple days of rest, warmth, and good food, he's starting to perk up!

He didn't want you to sell your leverguns to buy a bulldog, so He sent you this one.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I don't think I'm off the hook for the bulldog, yet. She keeps saying this one is my dog, keeping her slot open for the bully when the time comes.

I'm guessing you don't want me to "help" anymore?
I couldn't turn him away either. Looks to me like you were gifts to each other.Batman1939 wrote:Good on you Ted. Beneath the "skin and bones" that looks to be a real nice dog; I'll bet that he repays you 10 times in love for the kindness you've given him.
Like you, I'd be inclined to keep him.
The vet said he was about 2 years old, and he is a Pointer, probably full blood. I took him out for a walk tonight, and he's got the instinct. Just need to get him to point the quail, and not the mice.Rusty wrote:Ted, he looks beautiful. It would be even greater if he turned out to have hunting instincts.
Same here. Lost my Springer Spaniel Sammy about 9 years ago. She was the best, and haven't brought myself to get another dog since then.mikld wrote:Sounds like we're alot alike; my Annie (papered Miniature Dachshund) died 6 years ago and I haven't been able to look at another dog since. God had Drifter waiting for you 'cause you prolly wouldn't look for him, a new pal, yourself...
That's what I thought, and the vet said so too, so that's what we're going with.2X22 wrote:What a neat story!
Drifter is an English Pointer, isn't he?
