Another home made knife
Here are a couple pictures of my latest folder. I made this one and gave it to my friend Jay . I worked with him 20 years ago and went to his wedding. He is now a prison guard in WallaWalla WA. state pen. He is also a budding knife maker. He forges most of his from old car/truck springs. I prefer to use new stock and use the stock removal method.
This one is 440C stainless with brass liners and bolsters and Blood wood scales.
the angle of the picture in the middle makes the blade look small but it is as long as the handle can take.

OS, that is my own design. I draw them up on paper and make a pattern out of cardboard to test the idea before making a hard pattern out of sheet aluminum. I have books with patterns but it is more fun to do one completely from scratch.

Re: Another home made knife
Thanks for the compliments guys. I enjoy building them and get to go hide in my shop.
I have a bowie almost completed now. That one has taken a bunch of time but is coming out great. It will be my best work to date.
