This evening, my son, known here as "Ysabel Kid's Kid", or more commonly, "Y2K", earned the coveted rank of "Eagle Scout" in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) program!!! He completed his Eagle Board of Review, and is now a newly minted Eagle - joining a rather exclusive set (only 4% of Boy Scouts ever earn the rank of Eagle Scout).
Needless to say, his Mom and I are pretty darn proud!
He looks a little cocky himself!!!

Heartiest congratulations to Kid of The Kid!
Excellent! I never flew with those Eagles, but I know that the discipline and heart that went into the quest is something that will stand Y2k in good stead in the years to come - Excellent!

handsome and admirable young man !
I still carry the photo of my son in Eagle garb in my wallet.
you should find him one of those Winchester 94/22 Boy Scout Commemorative rifles .... or maybe one for both of you ! like most dads of eagle scouts I have no doubt you played a major role in this achievement too. congratulations to both of you.

Thanks fellas. I will pass these along.
Just for comparison, here's what he looked like almost 10 years ago when he started. This was the evening before his first Cub Scout meeting. Didn't know what it was all about, or how to salute properly - just knew he liked the uniform!

Congratulations to Y2K, you and Mom. Our troop has found that it is a "family" affair to get the Scout to the Eagle rank. I don't mean that the family does the work and the Scout sets back but it takes a lot of time over several years and the support from parents is a very big deal. As parents you have earned to right to be proud and I have to say that the day our son received his Eagle rank will always be right up there with the biggest days of his and our life's.
