Possible Help For Those Rifle Shooters With Vision Problems
.
While this sight is shown on a receiver, there's no reason why one cannot be mounted on the rear section of a rifle barrel, with the very short Weaver-style rail mounted to a sight dovetail filler, or screwed directly onto the barrel in the same rear sight location.

The sight is slightly pricey ($98), but what would it cost to get your shooting vision back ?

Speaking of eyes, I found this a week and 1/2 ago, its "Lutien", 25mg. I have been taking it since then and it really has helped my eyes in that short time. No more blurriness and distance view is much like it used to be.

(Flame Suit On) There is no need for something fancy. A large aperture, or ghost ring does not need to be in focus. Just look thru it, and have a small sized HiViz, or bright painted front. No need to line anything up, because your eye automaticly finds the center of the ring.....

Short mechanical radius but if precise adjustments could work well. Perhaps the optical sight radius is longer...? If so that would help too.

Thanks for posting, first I have seen of this. Scopes are what I have used so far but as small, light, and lacking the requirement for batteries this may be a good thing.

I found it in the local Rite-Aid drug store. No prescription needed. I can say it definitely helps my vision. I never needed glasses, always had very good eyes. Recently, I noticed some blurring, distance vision was getting bad, reading small print was hard to. So I tried this stuff and it really seems to help.
The bottle says, made by Bausch+Lomb, Lutein 25, plus 5mg of Zeaxanthin isomers, whatever that is.
Give it a try, only side effect is "bronzing of the skin", lol. I am pretty pale, we will see what happens.

My multi does also, I take extra vitamin D also, way over the multi's amount. The multi's are good I have found, but vitamins might take more, the hard part is finding the right ones.BlaineG wrote:My multi-vit has 300 mcg....so, that would be .3 MG of it???SteveR wrote:Speaking of eyes, I found this a week and 1/2 ago, its "Lutien", 25mg. The Zeaxanthin isomer is to keep yer eyes from bulging out every time a purdy lady is spotted..............

+1 on ghost rings. Pretty much everything I can put one on has them now. No, I'll never get as precise a sight picture as one can with good iron sights, but, I can hit things with the ghost ring I can't with irons any more.BlaineG wrote:(Flame Suit On) There is no need for something fancy. Zirgan, Acyclovir, and Prednisolone gave me my vision back. I went to 10/1000 in my right eye for a while. If you are having a sudden vision problem, get yourself to an opthalmologist post haste. I am back to 20/20.

Or at least to your MD. Then again, after months of tests, except for any blood test (go figure), it was an ophthalmologist that figured out I was diabetic. And, it was because my vision did suddenly go blurry.piller wrote:Zirgan, Acyclovir, and Prednisolone gave me my vision back. I went to 10/1000 in my right eye for a while. Opthalmologists are MDs, and as such, they can diagnose you with conditions such as diabetes. DO NOT ignore any sudden vision problem.jeepnik wrote:Or at least to your MD. That said, a slow steady decline in vision is pretty common. It is the sudden change that I had.

Re: Possible Help For Those Rifle Shooters With Vision Probl
I bought one of those sights a while back for use on a revolver.
The lock screws came loose during a match.
It needs a better system than a teenie jam screw to keep it from moving under recoil.
I said that I was going to try to fix it but lost interest.
It didn't seem to be faster to pick up than a standard front and rear sight so I wasn't highly motivated.
YMMV

You are correct of course. I should have said primary care Dr. But I still am amazed that neither the primary care or any of the "specialists" even did as simple a thing as poking my finger to check my blood sugar level. They went right for the difficult to diagnose, blowing right past the easy stuff that would have been all that was needed.piller wrote:Opthalmologists are MDs, and as such, they can diagnose you with conditions such as diabetes. That happened to a guy at work, all sorts of heart tests and fretting over blood pressure. Mentioned it to my BIL who is a cardiologist and his first comment was that they should have checked blood sugar first off. That was it, guy is hypoglycemic.jeepnik wrote:You are correct of course.
