Range Report

I took the Win. M94 30-30 out to the range today to try out a load given to me on the forum by either jmiller or Tycer (forgive me for not remembering: it's been 6 months and the old forum is down preventing a search) and to sight in my deer rifle.

Here's what I came up with. Target on the left is the 30-30, on the right is the 270 Win.

30-30 was 34.5 gr of W748 under a 150 gr. Speer FP with a Fed. LR primer in Win. cases. This is the best load I've found to date. 4 Shots @ 50 yds.

The 270 was 60.0 gr of H4831 SC under a Sierra 130 gr Pro-Hunter with a Fed. LR Primer. COL was 3.330". 3 shot group @ 100 yds.

Not a bad day at the range.

I use 4198 or 3031.

Yes, I have recommended that load a number of times. It's always worked for me. I'm very glad it worked in your rifle too.

H 4831 SC in the 270 is a outstanding combo.
Works wonders in my BIL's rifle.
