My new magnum!

Post by Nath »

Lol

It is actually very good though. Loves Remington 40grn sp.
Tried the Hornady 25grn ntx (yes 25grn!) And it in my opinion is a rabbit load!
Bullets recovered from dirt, all 3" of penertration of it at 100yds show no expansion!
Image
I like this cz American however it is flighty in the shoulder. It comes with a sound mod I was going to leave off but it does steady the rifle aimed off hand!
So watch this space for photos!

I've always thought the noise from a 22M was over-the-top and could stand some modification! Congrats on your new rifle! Nice bunny too!

Thank you.
The triggers on these are a breeze to fix up nice, if you have an assortment of springs that is. Win m70 type of trigger group.
I was shooting it at horse poop over 150yds away in strong wind with the remmie 40grn and was mighty impressed!

Griff, I found it OK, just a loud pop and the crack. With the mod it resembles an lr hv.

I foolishly swopped my CZ for a Uberti 66 Carbine, ( well I'm a levergunner :? ) anyway I tried all the magnum ammo I had and found the Federal 50gr JHP really liked my Uberti, unfortunately the 66 sights and my 66 year old eyes will not permit me to try any long range testing.
Nath, I'm sure you and your new magnum will be feared by your local Fox population real soon... :D

Yes, mixed reports confused me so chose the cz instead.

Nice rifle, I almost bought a lefty 452 but just had to have a 9422 instead. Settled for a 527 lefty in 223,

Nath, Nice looking shooter. Ive shot the 30&33gr ammo and they dont do as well as the 40 gr. Short stubby bullets especially 30's are unstable at distance and any wind hurts more. For predators when I use body shots I like the game point bullet or I alter a fmc by filing the front of the bullet till the lead shows in a trim die. danny

Nath my CZ Mag is one gun I have that likes inexpensive ammo: Winchester super X x22mh jacketed hollow point. I shot this gun a lot when I bought it and tried many brands, the super x was very good (they were all pretty good). I bought 15 or so boxes when they cost about 6 dollars each, it is more now. Never did scope it as it is outstanding with factory irons.

I just bought a 22 magnum barrel for my CZ 455 which came with 22 lr and 17 HMR barrels. I haven't shot the magnum barrel yet but this rifle is very accurate with other barrels.

Love my CZ 452 in .22 Magnum! Mine has a mannlicher stock and the earlier tangent rear sight.
Mine also likes the heavier bullets. I scoped it briefly but really the tangent sights. with 40+ grain bullets the
sights are dead on. One of my favorite woods walking rifles with a .44/45 on my hip.

Have fun!!

A friend of mine is a left hander, and he has a CZ in .223/5.56 Nato that I have fired. If your .22 Magnum is as accurate as his rifle, then you have a nice one. I am right handed, but that left handed bolt action CZ was inherently accurate enough that I couldn't miss the bullseye with it at 100 yards even though I was shooting it left handed. If he ever decides to go hunting things like rabbits or foxes, they are in serious jeopardy.

Good morning
Those CZ's are fine rifles. They have a very good reputation down here in Peru.
35 years ago bought a CZ in Chattanooga in caliber 30-06. Most accurate out of the box 30-06 i have ever owned. Still have it and will be one of those rifles that stays to the end.

I really love those CZ's also, I am really thinking about getting one in .233/5.56. I figured as I reload it would be a lot cheaper than the 22mag.
I love the stock also, I am building a mannlicher stock for my 98 actioned 6.5x55.
