I know what a challenge it is to hunt with a flintlock, and I admire your skill. I have a Northwest Trade Gun that I would like to try on ducks, but we are required to use non-toxic shot such as Bismuth. That stuff sells for $25 per pound, close to $2 per shot fired! Unfortunately, I'm not that good of a shot!
I very much enjoy your hunting pictures; thanks for posting.

I recently experimented with steel shot. Wrapping card in the muzzle first on an inserted wadding. It works but only at short range, about twenty yards! A good dog is a must!

End, get one Sir. Just to much fun!

My hat is off, I raise a glass.
I nothing special Oldwin, just like me being in creation.

Mike it is a large 20g, .629". I run between 7/8-1&1/8oz on equal or less volume of powder. Usually on thin card and wet leather was.
It shoots a .562" ball heavy patched pretty good too.
Nice wing shooting Nath. Hope I get my 16 gauge flinter done by next turkey season. I can't hardly hit anything on wing with a modern gun. Don't know if I would try wing shooting or not with a flinter.

You will, it does take a lot of faith and determination though.
To be honest I struggle with mine with exception of going away birds!
Nice shooting...
Make a spark with a rock,
Point your stick
Boom
Bird falls
I love it!
