What Would Be The Period Correct SixGun For My Sharps?

Depending on the 2014 and 2016 elections, either a 1860 Colt or a Glock.

Since you have the 1874 Sharps, marked "Old Reliable" as were the originals, I'd suggest a Colt SAA in the "blackpowder frame" form, (screw cylinder pin retainer & bullseye ejector rod), or any prior dated sixgun. Since your rifle appears new, I wouldn't look for an "original", unless it were a bargain and you were looking to refinish it. Besides, since you've said you were 'that' interested in BP, the modern steels are better suited!
Since it was produced up until the company's closing in 1881, the Remington 1875 would also be a good choice. While CAS may be a fantasy game, I still find it amusing to see a guy with a new 1873 or 1866 and a revolver made to look like it's 140 years old. (Not a good attitude, I know...)!

If I was still on the lookout for a revolver to go with my Sharps, I do believe that I would carefully consider the Remington conversions with the the top strap as opposed to the open frame Colts. Hard to beat the extra strength provided by the top strap.
Do not rule out a .38 Special – cheap to shoot and it is an "updated" .36 Navy calibre.
Often thought about a conversion, but they just about seem to be unobtainium. Buffalo Arms has had their conversions labelled as “temporarily unavailable” for about 3 years now. Have no idea as to the availability from dealers such as Navy Arms or Cimarron Firearms.
As for the Ruger Vaquero: original Vaquero or the "New Model"? You already know this, but some may not. The "New Model" is more along the lines of a Colt 1873 and "Colt only" reloads are recommended. The original Vaquero is quite a bit larger and will easily digest and handle the much more potent "Ruger only" reloads found in the reloading manuals.
Next time you are by this way, I will dig out my US cavalry model .45 Colt Schofield along with my .45 Ruger "New Model" Vaquero for you to coon finger. Some prefer the Schofield grip to others. And it seems to me that the Colt Navy grip is a bit smaller than the Army grip. As always, I would suggest handling one before you make a decision.

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

Everyone always goes for the Colt first; How about a Remington model 1858? It would very period correct for your Sharps.
