Hello, Levergunners

Post by OldBrownDog »

Hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I've read this forum for a while, but never joined so I'm new here, but not to lever guns.
Current count stands at 4, from small to big: 1981 Marlin Golden 39A .22LR, 2013 Winchester (Miroku) 1873 .357 Mag (currently back at Winchester to see about a re-chamber to .44/40), 1961 Winchester Model 94 .30/30, and a 1986 Browning 1886 .45/70.

Tried to get pictures up, but couldn't get them sized right....

Gonna have to get Photobucket.

Welcome aboard.....I'd love to hear a field report on that '73. I understand that it has no safety, or floppy trigger?

The '73 is awesome. No safety, no floppy trigger. Smoooooth. Accurate to 50 yards (furthest I shot it). :D

I got it in December, put ~150 .357 Mag rounds through it. Had a slight issue with the hammer binding against the bolt as the bolt slid back forward into the receiver. Sent it in to be fixed (free and very quick). Then decided I would rather have an 1873 in the "correct" .44/40, and pick up a Marlin 1894C in .357 when I can find one around for a decent price. So I sent it back in early January requesting a rechamber/rebarrel. And then SHOT came around and Winchester announced the 1873 was going to be available in .44/40 (I shoulda just waited!) and now my 1873 is still at Winchester :( , awaiting their decision as to whether or not they'll put on a .44/40 barrel.

If you use the "Direct" link to post, folks can only see the one photo you wish to show. And, if you use the "[img]" brackets, it will actually appear in your completed post, as long as the pic is less than 1,000 pixels wide or tall.
