WANTED: Trusted small parts machinist
I have looked all over the interwebs for a replacement Rimfire Firing Pin for a "Classic" (Old Model) Contender.
Not Numrich, not Nobody, has one.
BUT, I still have the old (Bashed & Bent) one. When I had a CZ50 OEM firing pin snap (as usual) I had a machinist cut me a new one out of D2.
I really need a new FP for this Contender, so I need a reliable Machinist (with a decent turn-around) to take the old one and make me a new one.
PLEASE PLEASE someone with connections connect me.
Thanks.

Week or three... as long as I have solid communication. It's not my gun, but I've done all I can and I want to get it put back together and returned ASAP.Mescalero wrote:What constitutes decent turn around time for you?

For large scale (farm/ranch/oil patch) work? Yep. For something that small/precise? Not that I know of. I live in a town of 500 with the next largest town having only 6,000.Pete44ru wrote:.

Try precision machine, in Oklahoma City. Used to shoot IHMSA with the owner, now his son runs it. They both were fantastic machinists. Haven't been by in a few years, so check to see if they are still there.

Re: WANTED: Trusted small parts machinist
I'ld first see if Jackalope gunshop in Douglas is still operating. He is/was a handgun smith extraordinaire.
If that don't work then next time you go thru Lusk stop at Walt's lathe and machine and see if Roy and Verla would make you one, tell em I recommended them.

Here's another real gunsmith sort of close by, that does quality work , and knows how to do more than just swap parts out. In the interest of fair disclosure, I know him personally and have paid him for work done on a rifle.
