Buckshot anyone?

Post by Rusty »

In case you want to do it all yourself in making buckshot loads for your LEVERACTION SHOTGUN, here is the mould you've been looking for.

Rusty,

I will make my own,now that I know I can.

The molds look okay and seem resonable enough , but that Bubba Rountree fellow that does the Youtube videos for them I don't particularly care for .

While an okay idea I kinda prefer buying ready made buckshot in 5 or 25 pound lots and then reloadeding it .

I push home cast OO buck .33 thru a Lee .314 push thru sizer, lube with Lee alox and load two in the 32 S&W long using 98 GR WC data, two shoot to the sights on my Mod 31, one shoots to low to be any fun.

The pellet's come out of the sizer with a nice belt at the mid section and hold the rifling well, 25 yrd accuracy is excellent at 775 FPS.

My mold is a Morgan mold made in Denmark by a good shooting machinist , it's cut for nine OO and eight OOO .

Lee has a buckshot mold too. Strips of foil placed in the correct place will give split shot for fishing I am told.

I've been using one of the "Do-It" slingshot ammo molds to cast my own buckshot for several years. One side casts a ball about # 1 size and the other side does 000. Also can be used for round ball loads for .30 and 38. They do well in a wrist rocket.

I could be wrong of course. Not going to seriously worry about it though. I just like and believe it
