Lever-action Tokarev (Video)
Hey guys! Sorry it took me so long to get this video up. We have launched a new product at work and I am happy to say it is doing great! But the flip side of that is that I have been having to work like crazy. No time to shoot or work on projects really.
Today was the first time I have fired this gun since my last post! My brother came down from Iowa and we finally took a break to go shoot.
A short list of what we fired:
R92-In Tok of course!
336 Marlin - .35 Rem
AMT Automag - .22 Mag
LAR - .45 Win Mag
Astra 600 - 9mm Para
Webley - .38 S&W
Glock 33 - .357 Sig
Unfortunately no vids of the other guns as the camera was sucking!
Here's the video link for the R92:

Sweet! Is the 7.62x25mm round accurate in the '92? Looked reasonable from the targets.

I would like to see you write up the story on that one -- I'm assuming a 357 had the right configuration for feeding? Were you able to get a barrel relined for the Tokarev round or did you have to get a new barrel?

At 36 sec. on the video there is a puff of smoke from the bolt face area. Was that a ruptured primer or am I just seeing things again ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Re: Lever-action Tokarev (Video)
Harry, I never noticed the puff of smoke til you pointed it out. I am not sure what it was. I don't save the cases, as the bullets are so hot that they split 95% of the cases at the 3 dot crimps! I am not worried about it. I cleaned the gun when I got home and it looks great. It has about 250-300rds through it now. These cases also split when fired from my CZ-52 and TT33.
Earl, I did a writeup on it several months ago. It's on here somewhere. Yep, it started out as a .357 gun. I relined and chambered the barrel myself. Got the chamber reamer and headspace gauges from Pacific Tool. Interestingly, the no-go gage was the only one that was right! The field and go gages were off! Good thing I double checked. Guess not many people mess with this caliber.
Ysabel, It appears to be very accurate, but my sights are off slightly. I forgot my brass punch set, so I will adjust them next time I'm shooting paper.

I'd like to see you work the lever without losing your cheek weld please. Nice video, nice gun!!!
Kind regards,

Re: Lever-action Tokarev (Video)
Very cool and congrats! Now you guys need to make a batch and market 'em!
Re: Lever-action Tokarev (Video)
Tycer, I like taking the gun away from my cheek. That way I get to watch the little shells eject and make sure that nothing is amiss. You have to remember that I am an Engineer and half the fun for me is watching all the mechanical bits do their jobs in unison!
Kaschi, I might just do that. I am getting (gun) crazier every day and now think that I would like to own a lever-action rifle in .357 Sig and .45 Win Mag! I might just be crazy enough to try it too... Out of curiosity, if I may ask, what would you be willing to pay for a lever-action Tokarev?

Jp,
I'd say you are very talented. I have never seen a conversion such as yours and I'm willing to bet it's the only one in the country. Very interesting----6

Re: Lever-action Tokarev (Video)
I would be curious of what kind of velocity it has.

Probably not much more than is advertised for the pistol. I have done a fair amount of chronographing for the 9mm in the Smith Model 59 with a 4" barrel and my Uzi with the 16" barrel and the Uzi is only (going from memory) was only like a 100 feet ps faster.----6
