From the deer tic post..what bug bothers you the most?
Some have said ticks, but I hate deer flies more. Not much on mosquitos either. I was freaked about deer ticks, but thanks to a quick treatment, I'm not too worried anymore. Just ticks give me a crawly feeling. I don't like 'em but deer flies drive me nuts. Deer tick, deer flies, you'd think we had a lot of deer around here. Not so much.

Deer Flies & Bot Flies.
I can generally keep the ticks/chiggers/mosquitos at bay but can't seem to keep the nastyier flies away without using heavy, equine-grade repellant...

NO SEE UMS & black flies, some days I would have to wear a head net while
cutting logs in Wisconsin, some days they gave me the excuse to take the boat out
fishing on the open water just to get away from them

I expect there to be bugs.
Flies, ticks, bees, buzzy, crawly, bitey things in the woods.
I do what I can to protect my person and my gear in a prophylactic kind of way.
What makes me paranoid is lil' teeny tiny almost invisible spiders.
They don't ever seem to hurt anything. They don't bite. They just crawl around and suddenly you notice them crawling on a table or on a hair on your arm.
They always activate my "bug paranoia" system to where I compulsively brush away nothings and no-see-ums for the next 30 minutes or so.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Crab lice, ticks, pinworms. Yep. Freakin yuk!
Oh, ever since my dad told me that earwigs crawl in your ears and can't back out I am not real fond of those either. Fast moving centipedes too. Those prehistoric looking cricket that invade the basement too. Shiny spiders when I'm under a client's house.

Goes with the territory, up here in the Wisconsin north woods, though some years are worse than others for one or two of the nasty little things. Beats the heck out of living in the big city, though, with all their sprays, insecticides, chemicals, stink and… well, you get the idea. Don't care if I never see another big city. I'll take the bugs, any day.

Yep, biting Black/Horseflies are the bug that bug me the most when outdoors and/or hunting.

TICKS!!!
I don't know how many varieties we have here, dog ticks, deer ticks, yearling ticks, seed ticks. I hate them all. I've had erlichiosis (spelling?) and it's nasty stuff, was sick for three months. I still have an outbreak with a big bullseye rash on my lower calf/ankle about once or twice a year.

Sand flies - they always bit me between my knuckles and they carry leishmaniasis.

We get drain gnats in the house. They flit about my plate of food while I am trying to eat.. I hate it if my wife leaves any food uncovered in the kitchen. Don't want flies anywhere near my food... Back when I drank bourbon the gnats would drown themselves in my drinky, funny I'd fish them out and finish drinking the booze but if the same bug lands on my fried chicken I'll give it to the dogs.

Right now I'd say mosquitoes. Dang things can kill you.
