I have always had trouble with my old "97" Marlin so I traded it for a carry 1911. The marlin was a good feeling rifle but would sometimes with certain 22 ammo fail to eject. The Kimber Pro Custom Defense Package ll, 4 inch 1911 45 auto was the right size to carry for me. It is smoothed out so as not to catch on clothes and has night sights. It shoots great and fits a holster I had perfect. It is made in their custom shop. I will miss the old marlin but I have four more 22s. The slide is stainless steel and the frame is alloy. It is light and fast with checkerd rosewood grips. I just thought y'all might want to see it. RR7

You traded an old Marlin levergun for a new fangled semi-auto? That's it, your outta here! I might think different if the trade was for an old Colt SAA.
Hey! Good trade. '97 Marlins can be troublesome as most of 'em must have been shot 8 million times. I fixed a few for buds over the years. The Kimber 1911 carry gun is a hot number at my bud's gunshop.------------------6

rangerider7 -- now that's a BBQ gun, practical, but elegant at the same time...nice trade, isn't that you're 3rd .45acp this year, not like i'm counting... :)
30wcf, yes you are correct. I traded a Colt DS, the Marlin and some contemporary spurs for all three. I am still wanting a Sig Nightmare 1911 and that probably will do it. Strange how you get on different trends after you have achieved certain goals in collecting but these pistols are for using. I shoot all my guns but the 1911s are for home protection and carry. Times they are a changing. RR7
I have the same model, except in full size. My favorite handgun by far. Accurate, light, and gobbles up everything including Russian steel. Think you will be happy.
I have one as well, slightly modified to suit my preferences (Installed a single side safety, a steel Wilson mainspring housing and a short trigger to better fit me), gun has proven to be reliable and very accurate. Its a good choice.

It shoots and carries well. Good to see your back Pitchy. I'll shoot my stainless Springfield Armory 1911 probably a lot more. This one is to carry. I'll shoot it enough to make sure I can hit any varment, two or four legged. RR7
Mine (CDP) could almost be a twin. Might I suggest some Wilson 47D mags as the perfect combination. A Milt Sparks IWB holster turns my world perfectly.
