Yeah - those Sharps are really cool, but I was trying to see the fence in the background - no way was that a wild hunt. It was still good shooting by the hunter.

You could enjoy elk steaks 3 times a day for a long time with that big monster. You would need to build your strength in order to do carpenter work required to strengthen wall of house to hang horns.
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

I didn't see a fence, but that animal could have stepped over it. There's lots of fences on BLM land. Doesn't impede traffic flow, just keeps the cows off the highways...

I don't think the steaks would be so great, but someone with eyes that young probably has a good set of chompers.

Nice animal though and good to see that elk don't really have ESP.

I have some questions about that hunt.

Where's the cows?

Where are these bull elk that stand and watch 3 guys and a camera walk up to them?

Its gotta be early Sept judging from the foliage and you see a bunch of bulls with no cows. Smells like a high fence deal to me. These guys say to cow call. They grunted instead and gave a little bugle, no responses. Makes you wonder.

I think them elk was looking for the feed bucket when those ol' boys put the 'sneak' on them.

Like I said, have my suspicions.

I will admit that I don't see many ELK here in Ohio but it must be nice to stand on the edge of a field and have them big boys walk around in the open......not a care in the world and look just like beef steers walkin around there. . I just have to show this to the local "bawanna" hunters who have the permanent tree-stands over the feeders.

Nice shot, nice gun, nice elk, but isn't the hunter supposed to keep shooting until the animal is down?

NO...One shot one kill! I only took a second shot at one deer case I did not want it to go down into this deep canyon. So I shot it through the neck and dropped it where it stood.

If you're hunting Africa or most guided hunts, you draw blood you pay for the critter. Keep shooting until it is down.

Yes, I agree with that. On top of that, you don't get to keep the meat anyway.

It is easy to fall in love with a Shiloh Sharps rifle. I don't know if that hunt was canned or not, but I do know that man is a shooter and I admire that.
