Pinkerton has "security" officers at some of the facilities I visit. I hope to heaven that those they have "securing" government installations are somewhat more, err, adept. Though they probably still only pay a bit over minimum wage. In this world, you truely do get what you pay for.

I've worked in security. There are some armed sites you can make $30.00/hour.

Yup.....
There's Pinkerton guards who are armed with a flashlight and paid accordingly.
There are also Pinkerton guards who secure nuclear facilities, armed with Glocks and shotguns, and are backed up by an internal SWAT team composed solely of former SWAT/Special Forces guys, armed accordingly including with a armed helicopter gunship, and who as they freely admit, do not have the ability to arrest or capture....
If the SWAT guys get involved..... the perps are dying. Period.
The Glock-and-shotgun guys make around $25-30 an hour and are effectively private cops with the same powers inside the facility (which spans a couple miles).
