Cold north wind blowing today but bright n' sunny.

Tia rests after a good retrieve, out the wind and in the sun it was warm!

I'll always remember a trip a friend of mine went on one time. He was hunting with another mutual friend who had a dog. After two misses the dog came and sat down in front of him and just looked at him for a few seconds as if to say, hey buddy I'm doing my job how 'bout carrying your end. Then the dog got up and went about his business. He said he'd never been given a dirty look from a dog before. It kind of made him feel bad.

Nath, that country looks like rabbit heaven to me.

My high school friend had a Labrador that was one heck of a hunter. What ever type of game you shot at first (rabbit or bird) was all he would go after that day and ignored any other type of game. :?

So from the picture I'd guess that this time Tia did the shooting and you did the retrieving. Isn't the stock a little long for her?

Nath, I really enjoy your photos. They have the interesting stuff up front to see but they also show the countryside.
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester.

I have a Llewellin albeit she's getting on in her years. She could be resting right alongside your girl with a brace of pheasants or hoppers cooling in the shade...

Love a setter after a fun morning and a nose to the grass. Congrats on a dog, and a day well played.

Some of my lost arrows lie around there too

Not far away (1 mile) a flint arrow head was found in a field, the field is now known as `arrowhead field`.

Thankyou everyone for your kind comments :)

"Not far away (1 mile) a flint arrow head was found in a field, the field is now known as `arrowhead field`."

Bought a farm to use as a deer camp 25 years ago. Working on a break in a fence, we found a large garden snake. To teach my daughter (7-8) to avoid snakes, I told her it was a dangerous Mamba.

To this day that area is known as 'black mamba gate'.

Nice pic, Nath. 18" snow around black mamba gate yesterday.
