Which would you get
Thinking about having a C Sharps Low wall built. Was thinking shotgun butt, case colored receiver, barrel sights, 24 inch barrel. My only problem is the caliber, I can t decide between 44mag or 22lr .I could use either just can t decide . Which would you get .

A 22 would have a certain cool factor, but I'd go with the 44 as well.

Can they do one in..22 mag.?....I always had a weak spot for the old 22 mag.

Re: Which would you get
There are so many really fine .22's out there that I'd spring for the .44 mag in my new Low Wall, which makes a very nice hunting rifle as will as interesting plinker/SASS rifle.
If I was to buy a new 22 I'd spring for the Marlin 39a. They are pretty expensive now, so I'd probably go to a few gun shows where you'll find a lot of interesting and accurate 22's.
I have a few Remington Model 34's that you can buy cheap. Accurate rifles, tubular magazines and nice triggers, good open sights.
Your .44 mag Low Wall will be a great rifle. Good hunter, accurate and you can load it down or shoot .44 Specials. I shoot .38's when plinking with my .357 rifle.

And here I am, thinking that anything a .44 can do, a .45 is more versatile doing!

Re: Which would you get
Either would be nice, but if it is an option, how about .22 Hornet (or K-Hornet = better)...?
That action seems to cry out for a medium-power, straight-walled 'older' chambering.
Also consider .32-20 (in the .308" bore is more practical, often called the ".30-20").
