Why should 2013 be any different from the last 4 years !BlaineG wrote:Unless I miss my guess, 2013 is going to be full of bad news....

I think we need an "opt out" choice for the next 4 years. We knew what was coming, I just don't think we know how bad it's gonna get.

In my opinion, $16Trillion dollars in debt means we went off the fiscal cliff a long time ago and we are currently burried at the bottom with more S..T going to be piled on top. We are in for a long season of some seriously negative outcomes.

Don't forget that the unfunded liabilities is in excess of $238 trillion by some estimates. No way to pay that off today if required.

They struck a deal in the Senate for the revenue side of the equation only.
$600bn over TEN years. $60bn a year isn't even a rounding error on a $1.1T annual deficit.
The House still has to approve!
The Federal Reserve(private bank) is printing(and making a huge profit) $85bn a month to fund our .gov's deficit spending.

I'll agree to that. After this mess with the guns are over, there will probably be 20 more mass shootings. Then there's the plague to which there is no cure, is gonna wipe out 40% of us. During that time, a "dirty bomb" is gonna be set off in some big city and take care of 60% of the survivors of the plague. Gas will rise to $30 a gallon.BlaineG wrote:Unless I miss my guess, 2013 is going to be full of bad news....
The government will force the "working class" to bail out Detroit on the threat that if we don't do it, the feds are gonna send the inhabitants to come live in our homes and with that, the further threat of spreading drugs, social disease, pestilence, aids, crabs, and generally, more filth.
The only thing I'm worried about is that I have enough gas to get to the gunclub so I can pal around with my buddies.

I honestly love gridlock. It means fewer infringements on our Liberties. Of course the rage these days in that corrupt body is "bipartisanship", which simply means "screw the enumerated powers of the Constitution and let's screw the people" and make ourselves dictators.BlaineG wrote:The absolute best we can hope for is complete gridlock....

I'm just sorry that the HOR isn't busy trying to impeach the coward in chief. I was estatic while they debated and pondered and investigated and listened and generally killed a LOT of time doing that with Clinton. They were so busy trying to burn on of their own, they didn't screw with us! If only.

What we are doing, as a country, to our children, grandchildren, and generations yet unborn is nothing short of cowardice and traitorous on a generational scale.

Re: fiscal bump in the road
I am of a mind that these DC pukes are all worthless. This recent "cliff" is a mask over the whole problem. The 16 Tril we are in debt is almost an unbearable burden at the 0-1% interest we are paying. Imagine when they start demanding 3,4 or 5%?
just be ready for the Greece-like riots because sugar daddy O can no longer milk the "rich" (ie working people) to pay for the freebies and they will come looking to "take" them.
This "cliff" was just made up to divert the attention away from the fact that the Senate and Odumbo, have not even come close to having a budget for 4 years, and have no intention of making one, much less trying to balance one. He's too busy passing out more freebies and calling it "investments".
Even still this latest bill they just signed, as I understand it, is only for 2 months. Really?
These morons want to run health care and they can not even make a budget or even make something a permanent bill.
Like I've said elsewhere, I hope the first Iranian nuke, they send our way, hits DC when there is a joint session going on.
