My family has taken in Christina, a 19yo that is dealing with some personal demons and came to TX for a fresh start. She showed up with a sack of clothes and her Henry rifle! This rifle was actually gifted to her about 5 yrs ago by an anonymous forum member here. Anyway, she can shoot! After a few hundred rounds at targets, we tried small game hunting. Justin was the lucky one who spotted a rabbit and tagged in right in the ear hole at about 20 yds!
I think most of the 'social ills' and 'stresses' of our modern society could be solved by living a few years 'off the land' and reflecting Thoreau-style on the process. Hope she gets back on the right track; life is too short, and too beautiful when appreciated, to mess up too often.
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws "first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.
That's great! I hope that by staying with your family she works through her problems so that she can move forward with her life in a positive direction. Good for you and her.
A good day for sure. I hope Christina will make the most of her chance in TX. Nineteen is a tough age to be especially in today's world. I am surprised Justin broke the family code by smiling in that pic. Must take after his Mom.
Nice shooting from and likely great eyes on that youngster.
And, bless you for taking in a young lady needing help. Year's ago my wife and I took in a young lady that worked with her. She was living with an aunt and uncle while attending college. She showed up at work on day looking like hell. Turned out the uncle wanted "his due" for providing room and board.
Long story short, she lived with us for several years while she finished college. She's now an teacher and doing well.
If I'd had my way, the uncle would still be in jail, and every inmate would know why.

Awesome!
I am sure the odds of that gal finding her way to a brighter future is high having your families great strength and caring compassion to help guide her along her way.
Also, with such times and so many people facing very hard times, its nice to see some refreshing events come about.
And lastly-------Good job Justin! (no ones going hungry for sure with you on the hunt)
