Rechambering and reboring a 336 Marlin to .38-55

Post by 1886 »

I am considering having a Marlin 336 rechambered and rebored from .30-30 to .38-55. Anyone to recommend for the job? Thank You.

I had my Winchester rebored by Jes Ocumpaugh. I am really pleased with the job.

I built the rifle from parts, so I was able to just send him the barrel. Easier shipping that way.

USE JES AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS!!!!!
HOW IS THAT FOR A RECOMMENDATION HE DOES FANTASTIC WORK DOES IT IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME AND CHARGES A REASONABLE FEE FOR THE AMAZINGLY ACCURATE RIFLE HE SENDS BACK TO YOU. He did a winchester for me from 30-30 to 38-55 and it is awesome.

Mine has the three groove rifling. With the way it shoots, there is no need for four.

I have a 1974 Winchester 94 30-30 that Jes rebored to 38-55. It is a very acurate carbine and am well pleased with it. No chambering needed, just rebored. I fired formed a bunch of 30-30 brass for reloading, they work fine.
