gun case for Marlin

Post by 93marshooter »

I have this nice Marlin 93. I have been looking for a nice appropriate gun case thats not "camo", "tactical" or wallyworld. Most of the products I see are vintage and really damaged over time or new and don''t fit the lever gun style. I have been looking for something leather canvas combination. Maybe the cowboy action shooter have some sources. Image

I have this old Redhead canvas and leather case if you want it. It's not "yellow". The bright morning light made the "khaki" look that way. It says it's for a rifle up to 46", in length. $15 if you want it. It will probably fit into a $12 flat rate Priority Mail box.

Boyt Harness and C.C. Filson have what you want but they're pricey.

You could have Lever make you one http://www.levergunleather.com/p_scabbards.htm I really like the buckskin with fringe toward the bottom of the page.

My favorite is a Bob Allen "Value Priced Shotgun Case". It's available in a variety of colors and sizes to fit your gun. I have several.

i too am tired of "tactical", "digital camo", plastic reinforced, 5 pockets for AR mags, MOLLE webbed, gun cases...try to find just a plain green or brown hunting jacket (carhart as an exception) or rain gear or anything that has to do with hunting... :(

Good information here!!! Mosts cases are to long for the lever action carbines. These are good suggestions. Jdad, I'll think about it. How old is that Redhead case?

I picked it up about 8 years ago and I have no idea what vintage it is, but my guess is 1950's-1960's.

In the old days, when we could go to Mexico, you would just walk across the border , stop at a shop, expain what you wanted and the leather worker would make it for you.
Now gramps still goes across  .
I think I will ask him to order up some scabbards/ case's and offer them for sale in the classifieds.

These covers are good to carry your gun in the boat to keep sand and water off it. I wish they were shorter. I would love one the perfect lenght for a lever.

I wonder if an M1 Carbine rifle case would fit it?

I'v got an olive drab canvas sleave I use alot or I just use a gun sock. Shotgun cases fit nicely too but most are camo these days it seems.

Skinner has some interesting cases that are simple and don't shout gun.

My takedown Winchester 92 will be getting one of the takedown cases. Probably the folder because of the ammo box pouch.

Edit: missed the link already above.
