Marlin 57M 1963
I picked this up this weekend. Born in 1963. 24 inch barrel, bluing very nice, great looking wood and well made. Gun is heavier than what you would expect. 15 round capacity and lever only has to move about 2 inches to feed round. Very very accurate and feeds like butter.

There's 6 pics in the link of it.
Anyone know anything about these fine rifles please chime in.
Think I fixed links....

Re: Marlin 57M 1963
A few months back one of the senior shooters in Master Class at Hat Creek Rifle & Pistol Club in Burney, California used a Marlin 57M equipped with a receiver sight to shoot a perfect 60/60 score in a Cowboy Lever Action Pistol Cartridge match. Last month he shot a 57/60, missing only three turkeys.
I'd say they shoot pretty good!

Re: Marlin 57M 1963
You have a very nice 3rd variation 57M. Notice how the forearm tip is slant cut and not rounded. This was not seen until 1966. You may want to check the serial number "letters". This version was only seen from 1966 until the end of production in 1969.....nice buy.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
Re: Marlin 57M 1963
Yea, I was told by original owner it was born in "63" but I didn't know for a fact it was. Thanks for the info...
