Something to do?
Ever been to the museum?
You can spend 3 days just in the firearms collection.

The museum is the place to start. You can drive out to Buffalo Bill Dam if that interests you. Cody is a nice little town but its main attraction is as a jumping off point for Yellowstone Park. There are some interesting old buildings downtown including the old hotel/bar that has been there since Buffalo Bill was last in town. Pretty country if you just want to look around.
What route are you taking to get there? Are you driving or flying to Wyo?

Re: Anybody up in Cody?
I was there with my family last summer. Awesome town, rodeo, whitewater rafting, and the Cody Museum. There is also another museum downtown with dug-up guns from all over. Very interesting.

Assuming you go through Casper to Shoshoni and up Wind River Canyon, when you get to Thermopolis turn left and go through Meeteetse. Great scenery and the little community of Meeteetse is historical. As others had said there is a rodeo almost every night in the summer. If you want to shoot, there is a big gun club just north of town. Have a great time. Hope the weather is good for you. This time of year it can be a little "iffy" so take a jacket. Could snow you know any month of the year. Have a great time, but don't miss the museum.Old Ironsights wrote:I live in Lingle. The Torrington - Lingle area is one of my favorite parts of the state. Good pheasant hunting!!!!!!

If you have time, see Old Trail Town on the west edge of town, on the road to Yellowstone. Pretty interesting if you like history and old guns.
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is, of course, a must see. Have a meal at the Irma Hotel, Cody's old place.

Re: Anybody up in Cody?
Well then you certainly don't need any directions from me. I grew up in Casper. Have a great time in Cody. Sorry I can't give you a name or a contact. I've been gone for a while and most of my friends have moved and don't live in Cody any longer. Be safe.Old Ironsights wrote:Meeteetse wrote:Assuming you go through Casper to Shoshoni and up Wind River Canyon, when you get to Thermopolis turn left and go through Meeteetse.
