Peace and quiet- pics-

Post by Pitchy »

Wife went to her mothers for New Years dinner, she wouldn`t let me take a war club so i stayed home
Went for a walk and enjoyed the quiet of the woods, just sat and admired the lever gun. :D

Pitchy, that's outstanding. My wife, dog and I went for a walk Monday afternoon on out 7 acre patch of heaven here in Central Illinois. It was a cool brisk day and we have a ball. When we headed home the fireplace came on and our dog Hoover was curled up sound asleep in no time. My wife and I had a cup of hot chocolate and we were out soon enough too. I love this cool weather we're finally getting.

A quick clarifying question, is the peace and quiet due to the lovely walk or your wife out of town?

Your tobaggon brings back memories. They were still using them on the trapline with dogs when I was young, for a few years. Skidoo/Bombardier finished that piece of culture but the tobaggon carried on for a few more decades. Yours is the proper width with a proper upturned nose. They rarely had such a big box though, just a little grub box that strapped on. Yours must pull nice behind snowshoes. Did you live in the Canadian north 60 years ago?

 ain`t the wife being gone it was her mother i didn`t want to visit, heck wife usualy goes walkin with me.
The toboggons we made last winter, somewhere on this board i have a thread about them.
I have a shorter one with a smaller box on it but Snoopy dog stole it from me for his sled.
The longer one pulls nice and i wanted the long box so we can put a seat on each end when we take a little rest.

My gals a keeper too, rather arragant of me, she puts up with me. All I remember about tobaggons is that longer is better. The seat is a great innovation. What kinda stove is that, pellets, alcohol, or? ?

Okay, how about when you slide the two halves of the seats out from the center of the box, a small table folds up. Just a thought. I wonder if there will be any snow if I head up that way tomorrow.

The ones we are using in the pics are just tin cans upside down with those pellets on them. The black stove is a collapsible camp stove i bought.
The alcohol stoves are another whole story, there are a few threads about them here try a search on those. :)
