Before she was Lily Munster, she was in Westerns...

Post by piller »

Today, I have seen 2 Westerns with Yvonne DeCarlo in them, and one was McClintock. She was a good actress, and all I knew her as was Lily Munster. Anyone else see her in the Westerns?

She started in Westerns in about 1952 at the age of 19 or so. They have had a few of the old ones on Western Channel lately.

My dad always thought she was one of the most beautiful ladies in Hollywood. I thought she was great in McClintock. Here's a list of the movies she was in : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001119/

She was also featured in this dog: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050166/
"Band Of Angels" was absolutely the stupidest movie I've ever seen!
While I was watching it, I literally squirmed with embarrassment for the established stars who were desperate enough to take part in this fiasco.

My sister was named after her.
I was named after Ronald Reagan.
My mother was named after Joan Blondell - the surname is my mom's given name.
My grandfather lived his life as a pretty good Jimmy Stewart impersonation.

all I know was that her husband was a stunt man who lost both his legs in the train scene in "How the West was Won" (the part with the logs). She stuck with him and stayed married to him afterwards. Makes her a classy lady in my book.

She had class and fineness that can't be acted and can't be hidden. Yvonne DeCarlo was the real deal! 8)
