Pending Maryland State Sika Deer Archery Record

Don't know how I've missed this for almost a year !

But I ran across the NEW PENDING Maryland State Sika deer archery record at 70 5/8" I think this one beat the old one by almost 5 inches !

I thought the one in my avitar had nice eye guards but this guy puts mine to shame !

I don't know who killed this Sika . But I do know it was killed with Muddy Marsh Outfitters and was mounted by Oak Creek Taxidermy !

I've hunted with Muddy Marsh in the past and know them to be upstanding and reputable . Sorry but I don't know the taxidermist . But Doug Wigfield the ex Maryland State Game Biologist speaks highly of them .

If I'm not mistaken Muddy Marsh has now been in on the #1 and #2 Sika records in the state !

Anyway, what is the age of a Sika buck like in your avatar or that state record buck? What is thier first rack usually look like? .DT

I would say the one in my avatar is maybe 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 years . The record stag is that age or a couple years more I would think .

Typically a first year stag has a little nubbins or short spikes . Or atleast thats been my experience so far .
