bet it tastes better than coon!

Post by Nath »

 Joe made me get my bow out. No coons around here though!

Image

The picture is from inside my natural blind where upon wild pheasant frequent. Over the years it is getting poor and birds could see me easy, in desperation I freshened it up with bracken and soon after this bird passed with a friend so it worked. They caught me unawares! Nothing get you going like trying to reach for a bow and clip the release aid on at 5yds and then draw!

A poor shot meant it made 12yds but was dead when I got it, not too bad.

Martin Jaguar @50lb or so, carbon arrow thing and a home made broad head.

Good job, Nath. Your hunting is always a joy to read and the pics are great. I'd like to see a pic of your homemade broadhead. I'm sure others would as well.

I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 of those for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner centerpieces, with the chukars I got last week.

I'm here to testify that pheasant is better than coon. I've eaten both on many occasions prepared in various ways. Pheasant is best.

Never eaten pheasant.
When my aunt fixed coon, it always tasted like the finest roast beef.

Nath, there are quite a few pheasants outside as I type this, I may try my luck later, at least nobody will hear me, hit or miss.

86er I'd love to try my bow on flying targets but I lose enough arrows as it is...
