be careful of the heat
I went to a funeral this past friday. I knew this lad since he was a pup. I worked with his father for about ten years, He was only 26 yoa . about 6'4" tall and every bit of three hundred pounds. He was very athletic and loved his sports and played softball in his spare time. He was built like an army tank! He was a good kid and was always happy and smiling. He had a heatstroke while playing ball and suffered a heart attack right then and there and passed away. He was also an organ donor, which helped to save 51 people. It was a shock for the family and community. So, please, be careful when out in the heat and take it easy. Please send a prayer for him and his parents, they are nice people and always treated me nicely.

My thoughts and prayers for all involved. A very noble deed being a donor.

That is very unfortunate for someone so young. When we hear of heat injury deaths we may presume it was an elderly person in an apartment without AC in an inner city setting but it proves that anyone can be affected.

Death gets all of us in the end, but I think we'd all be "ok" with it, if it would limit itself to those who have finished raising a generation of grand-kids to maturity, or those who are evil (like the Norway mass-murderer). This guy may have been a bit over-weight, but certainly sounds like he was neither 'old' nor evil; prayers up for his family.

Thoughts and prayers to his family.
A special thanks to him and all the other organ donors out there.
Someday in the not to distant future I will have to become an organ recipient (kidneys) to stay alive.
Thank you all.

Re: be careful of the heat
that's too bad. Last year out here some film producer passed away from the heat while walking her dog in the park, right under the Hollywood sign.
A few years ago I "hit the wall" and learned I'm not as young as I used to be. Now I take it real easy in the heat, and generally consume my body weight in water if I go out at all.
