Couldn't of said it better myself, Rihmfire. I also salute them. I have mandatory overtime this weekend. About 28 hours of it. Yahoo. Would rather have the time off.RIHMFIRE wrote:To all who gave some...

Re: Happy Memorial day
As General, and later, President George Washington said, these men gave their "last full measure of devotion" to God and country. Over a million have since the birth of the United States of America. We are still largely free today due to their sacrifice.

Marines from 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines-Charlie Company
Today isnt about those who are living. It is about these men. Its about remembering Doc Woods smoking on the balcony with me before I went to the gym saturday morning. Or him hounding me for weeks to go to the hospital after a couple concussions which led to my discharge and may of saved my life.
Or when I had to drive Blanton to the airport so he could go on leave. Or eating popeye's biscuits with Sgt Finke in Okinawa, or jamming out to Flogging Molly with Lt. Fuller on the beach during Aloha Fridays, or talking about the New England fall with Gibson, or laughing my butt off thinking about Hopper wearing a Navy USS Hopper hat with the brim flipped up and on sideways, or getting coffee with Klein before formation, or talking to Knight about his new born baby girl who he never got a chance to see.
Marines are pretty close, infantry Marines are even closer.
