Found some old barrels,25-35,25-20
I don't remember when I picked these up. They are both the old style carbine barrels w/o the ramp front sight. The 25-20 has been shortened about a half inch at the muzzle and has pipe wrench marks on the breech end and a bore like a sewer pipe, but it should rebore ok. Say to 32-20? The 25-35 blue is worn off, the bore still has decent rifling, the grooves show some pitting. It did clean up pretty good, it had been in the shop a while, I figure ammo was hard to get or to expensive is the reason it was taken off. I believe my project 30-30 packer is now going to be a 25-35 carbine w/ a cresent but plate. I wound up w/ a set of dies too. Can some one share the best bullet to reload for this round. Oh, the 25-35 barrel is marked nickle steel also. Seems like the chase is the most fun. Abilene
