Long ago I broke the #2 phillips "blade" on my Leatherman Wave. Finally got around to testing their "lifetime" guarantee.
Yep. It works. They didn't even try to fix it (old model). They just sent me one NIB. Turnaround was about 4 days.
Whata deal.

They are awesome. My "Wave" was the primary tool in Sendafa Ethiopia used to make a gasket and a radiator cap on our toyota van, and used to help in the assembly of the water purification sytsem for the towns water. It has traveled all over the US, on every hunting trip, To Africa, and to Cuba, Argentina and Chile twice. Its going back to Argentina with me in June, Canada in July and back to Afrca in Jan and Guatamala in Feb. I haven't broken anything on it yet but its nice to know their service is great.

Our local OSH store will xchange them model for model if broken. They didn't have My model on the first one I broke so they upgraded to the next model. It is good to know about sending them back though. Mine is broken now but I can't remember to take it in when I am in Town.

My Son had a Leatherman tool that had a busted screwdriver blade. He stopped in the Portland Oregon outlet store and had it replaced with no questions asked. BUT he was told that if he had engraved his drivers lic. number or his S/S number on it, the warranty would be void?? Have any of you heard that?? Why anyone would but their S/S no. on anything is beyond me. I have seen things in pawn shops with driver lic. no's on them.

Warranties are frequently "voided" by ANY "user modification".
Still, I think the "new" model Wave is engineered MUCH better than my "old model"...

OI,
Good people. Over the years I have sent back 2 of them (from broken blades) and got back 2 new ones. I use nothing else. Any foreign junk copies that I somehow receive get tossed. ----------Sixgun
Tim Leatherman is a real stand up guy. I don't buy anything else anymore. PillHer has a letter hidden away somewhere which Tim Leatherman sent to my son in reply to a letter that my son sent to him. The signature is in ballpoint pen. Not many CEOs would sign a letter to a 6 year old kid.
