If I can I take the ramp off & clamp it in a vice, then drive the sight out.
If I cant I support it best I can & tap it out.

If you are asking this question you might be like me! The best solution is to take it to a gunsmith and have him do it, I am not kidding, if you lack experience you are likely to bugger it up. If you are skilled, use a brass punch to drive it out to avoid marring it (left to right, I THINK!) Then install it right to left, again, I think!!! For the money, I get a gunsmith to do it, I know I suck!

If the front sight is a ramp front sight, weather soldered on or screwed on, your best best is to buy a sight removal tool. Such as this B-Square one at Midway. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.e ... mid=754137

If the sight is dovetailed into the barrel, then you need to support the barrel and use a brass punch and tap the sight out of the barrel from left to right looking down the barrel as if you were going to shoot the gun.

I use my Williams Sight Pusher, a tool similar to the one Joe linked above.

No more beat-up sights, ramps or sheared screws.

Midway carries a few brands/prices:
