44-40 and 32-20

Post by Bob Winchester »

Where is the best place to pick some up on the cheap.... if there is such a thing? What is the best kind to shoot? Looks like Winchester, remington and Blackhills are the only manfacturers that sell it. I'm not set up for reloading yet and sould enjoy making some empty brass in the mean time! :D Thanks for the help

Mr. Winchester,
Your not in Kansas anymore. :D Even the lowly .22 RF is expensive. You could get set up for reloading these cartridges for about what 4 boxes of factory stuff cost.-------------Sixgun

Even if you don't get your "dream reloading setup" yet, just a set of lee dies and their 'hand press' and a set of dippers would be fine for either of those cartridges - check prices of those (probably under $50 for all three), and you'll see what we mean.

I reloaded .32-20 for years with just the little Lee 'mallet' kit they still sell for $18, but alas, I don't know if they still make the kit in .32-20.

Georgia Arms http://www.georgia-arms.com. $28.00 + shipping for RNFP. Not reload but new brass/newly manufactured ammo. Not "cheap" but reasonable these days. Good company.

Able's has 32-20 and 44-40.

Ammo to go has 32-20 but no 44-40.

Track of the Wolf has 32-20 black powder and 44-40 black powder.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lee wouldn't make you a Classic Lee loader set in .32-20 if you asked them pretty please. I know they custom make bullet moulds.
