Wife is out of contact with folks she knows in Japan also. ISPs are being requested to shut down to conserve electricity. May be weeks before things approach some semblence of order, and much, much longer before some return to normalcy.

Ji, prayers up for your cousin.

Thanks again for your support. I don't read nor write Japanese but my son does. He tried that Google people search a couple days ago but the problem is I only know his name in Romaji or romanized Japanese but don't know how his name is spelled in Kanji which are the Chinese characters used in proper names, and which there are hundreds of combinations to spell. I need to know my cousin's Kanji spelling of his name to use the Google search. :( Thank you again for your support.

Prayers continuing from here. This morning in Sunday School we prayed for the people of Japan, too. Bad situation.

Friends Call Me Ji wrote:I just got some bad news. I have a cousin in Japan who retired to Sendai, Japan (straight in from epicenter of quake, and major center of quake and tsunami damage) 3 years ago. All roads, trains, telephone cut off to the area and no one has heard from him nor can contact since the disaster.
Good news! Just heard from my cousin, he, and his wife and youngest son are doing fine though they had been out of touch with outside world for over 20 days due to loss of infrastructure in area. They lived far enough from tsunami zone to survive, and were well prepared with enough food and water to last at least 30 days as well as butane stove, and fuel. Damage to their home was minimal. Just ecstatic to hear they are alive and well. Thanks again for all your support!
