In addition to suffering from major depression for years other things have been happening to me with thyroid issues, cholesteral issues, blood pressure issues, low testosterone and problems with double vision. Just prior to THanksgiving I had an MRI done on my head. While a lot of people who know me didnt think they would find anything as they were conviced there was nothing in my head anyway, the result of the scan did find something in my head. Unfortunantly it is not good. I have a large tumor in my pituitary gland just over one inch in diameter that is preventing my pituitary gland from functioning. The tumor is around my cortoid arteries and is pushing upwards and compressing my optic nerves. The tumor does not appear to to be bio active. My prolactin level is elevated above normal but my endrocronologist says he, " would expect the prolactin level to be much higher than it is based upon the size of the tumor if it was a producing tumor."
Assuming the surgery goes well, my prognosis is relatively good. The tumor was caught early enough that when removed my optical nerves and eyesight should recover. Then I will likely be on hormone replacement therapy for the rest of my life.
Anyway, my surgery is scheduleded for tomorrow, February 16th in Wichita. I ask for and solicit anyones thoughts and especially prayers tomorrow.
Again I thank you all for putting up with me on the forum and for your thoughts, prayers and support. May God Bless You All.
