Well a little catch up - daughter Tracy works for a modeling agency that sells tickets at NRA banquets and some of the guys chided her into buying a ticket or card at one of the events - she won a Ruger #1 in Ruger 300 RCM and gave it to dad. So ---- I took here out shooting and let her try the SBH 44 Mag and then the Single Six. She got really interested. I thought the Mag too big and she wanted to shoot something bigger --- so --- I picked up a Flattop 44 Specia,l one of the Lipseys, and after finding out that she liked it ----- I gave it to her tonight.
Tracy can like the outdoors and likes to do things.
We are going to have fun with this.

Tell my Dance Instructor I have not forgotten about her and I look forward to my next dance class! Happy New Year to you and your family Freddie! -Tutt

More good pictures. Happy New year Fred, and everyone else!
She's a very petty girl Fred. That's great that she likes the Ruger. That sixgun matches her outfit also.
Does she happen to like older, chunky, grey haired guys, log cabins, and big dogs?

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?
The Ruger #1: Here are a couple of shots of it and the sight in target with the Weaver scope. Last change - 3 shot group of 5/8s with the 180s at almost 3000. Handles nice.
I am looking forward to loading this with some 130 gr TTSX condor bullets.

Rifle looks to have some decent wood in the buttstock .
FWIW , in both a Remington Model 7 in 300 RSAUM and a Savage in 300 WSM I had excellent results with handloaded Hornady 165 grain SST's . Now if I'm not mistaken Hornady makes some kind of Condor friendly bullet as well and if I could find a polymer tipped one in the 165 range thats what I'd be trying in that rifle !
Come to think of it my pair of Ruger #1B's in 300 WIN MAG and 300 Weatherby are both shooting handloaded Hornady 165 SST's as well !
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !
Small deer - long range - condor bullets have high weight retention - it is almost a different game. 3300 - 3400 fps are likely possible. 165 would likely suffice for any previous weight.

A happy new year to our international friends - and on the pics we shall have to see what comes. This was a year of bountiful and often unexpected opportunity in that regard. Included were a Miss Montana Swimsuit winner, a world barrel racing champion, a Montana state archery champion, who knows what is coming along. There were I think more than 90 in all the pictures and over 60 in individual pics. But that spanned Las Vegas twice, Malibu, Santa Monica, Koreatown, Montana. Pennsylvania, weddings, a reunion, seminars, vacation. That was more getting around than I have had for years and most of it I did not plan. Have to see what ought eleven brings and keep the camera at the ready. One is flying into So Cal tonight from Montana and should be up here early in the week - we shall see. But, just got this New Year celebration from Australia. This group looks like it could have possibilities and as I bet our British and Swiss friends here could provide for socialization with visiting levergunners.

Fred,
Very nice post! The Condor bullet from Hornady you are looking for is called a GMX. Not sure if it has a Plactic tip or not as I have not used them yet. Did you get almost 3000 fps in 180 grain from a Hand load? and a 20" barrel? If so that new cartridge sure is a keeper!
Could be a good omen .... first patient of the year at the office.
Bigahh, the bullet I have to try is the 130 gr TTSX which has a blue plastic tip. The 180 almost 3000 load was factory from Hornady with SST bullets. I am very impressed with that rifle and the recoil is not bad. I see that mine has a 22" barrel.
Joe, the picture in the water is in the San Gabriel National Forest going to the" bridge to nowhere" there. We do not know what the red flower is but someone here might.

And for the new year the feats of gymnastics, it was rather exciting for a dad to watch her go from this to front 2 1/2 from the 10 meter platform in diving.
