I'm partial to my 1959 S&W Model 18, 4 inch with Fuzzy Farrant grips

You forgot 2. The Model 18, a 4" version of the 17, and this one .....
Yeah, I did forget the 18 but I've never, ever seen a 45... Neat!
I've owned most models of S&W revolvers made since 1900 and thought I had at least handled the one's I haven't....but I'd never even heard of a Model 45.
My vote would have to be either a model 17 or 18, just depends on the barrel length you want.

May your rifle always shoot straight, your mag never run dry, you always have one more round than you have adversaries, and your good mate always be there to watch your back.

I'm with TxPete, a six inch Diamondback in .22lr is the way to go. Once you fire one you will throw rocks at a S&W. Not really, but it is so easy to shoot and the quality is amazing. The only thing that compares is my USFA 12-22, I love it also. Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year.

TRUISM: if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. So, my advice is: Buy more guns!
I have the 1 7/8" version AirLIte. I like it and would like to get one of these as a kit gun. Double action is a bit heavy, but the single action trigger is just as good as my 629, and other J Frames. A 8 shot.
