Scout scoped Rossi 92's are in.
I just looked at some of the distributor’s inventory online and the Puma Scouts are on the shelves. So far just the 357mag, 44 mag and 454casulls in blue only.
The .17 is not there.
One of the distributors has them priced less than the standard all blue. Maybe to get them out there you think?

That "thing" is a solution looking for a problem. It totally ruins the clean, compact, handy, well balanced virtues of a lever gun.
An answer looking for a question................
I wouldn't even pick one off a dealers shelf to look at it.
Sad part is I'll bet the stupid things sell.

It wouldn't be bad if they could have milled the stock with the cheek piece as
one piece. That black attachment is really ugly.
With a 1x or 2.5x scout scope I bet it would be a real meat getter
Did I mention "sans safety"?

Could be why they have them listed for less than the standard model, ya think?dennie wrote:Many many years ago I accidentally saw my mother-in-law naked. Kinda the same thought here. Don't think I would want to see one every day.

Heck fellers,
If it will shoot accurately, I would hunt with, even if it was camouflaged.
I'm willing to give it a try. Looks like it would be the thing for hunting in the deep woods with fading light. Sometimes, iron sights are just too hard for me to see clearly. At the range they are just fine, but at 5 minutes till dark, when that hog comes out of the shadows, I think the scope would be pretty handy. The cheek piece looks like $hit on a white horse, but if it will help me to accurately and quickly place a bullet, who cares?

I dont mind my old mausers and mosin nagants looking goofy with funny things attached to them cause you really cant hurt their looks.
Now lever guns are a different thing altogether. I think of a lever like a nice woman, long and sleek and purdy. They should be blued with nice figured wood dressing them out. Dont wanna hurt any feelings but that is one butt ugly levergun.(pun intended)

I called but no one knows just yet. I would like to get some myself. I have folks ask all the time about them. I don't think the wart on the stock is needed to use it with one of the low profile red dots. I think that would be a great setup for low light.oldgerboy wrote:NKJ, have you heard if the base is available by itself? It would be easier than me having to make one.

Though I didn't actually D&T it, I did secure a T/C and a Leupold EER on my Puma Trapper with a piece of surgical tubing. Never shot it of course, but I did not find a need for more comb height with either scope. Took it for a walk, handled fine in daylight and dark from field positions. I can even see to shoot when the light fades if I wanted to. A scout scoped lever gun might be ugly but that tumor on the stock is just wrong...
