Great pictures! It must have been a great trip, one to value as time goes on. That cannon have a lever?

Russia is an interesting country but I haven't been there. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I absolutely love that style.....Russian music is my classical favorite, as well.
Putin aside politics, their nation anthem is one of the longest and most beautiful:

Great Pictures!! What do they call those ball like spirals on the tops of those buildings?? Tom
Re: OT - A Few Pics From Russia
I agree completely on their music. I especially like their frequent use of minor keys for harmony. The Russian culture loves great drama and their music reflects that.BlaineG wrote:I absolutely love that style.....Russian music is my classical favorite, as well.

The roof style is called 'onion dome' style and most of their religious buildings have them. Many are green 'onions' with gold leaf crosses, some are blue with white stars, and of course there is St. Basil with it's multi-colored domes.HEAD0001 wrote:Great Pictures!! So are the fellows posing as Lenin and Stalin doing it for tourists, or protesting wishing for a return to the heady days of the USSR?
Great pictures!
