What 1876 caliber

For the new crop of 1876 clones which of the calibers would be best for 200 meter shooting? Thank you. JerryW

well i hear there are 3 calibers, 40-65, 45-60 and 45-75
teddys favorite was the 45-75... for big game out west
but i think i would choose the 45-60 because of the brass cost and
availability...you can cut down 45-70 brass...

ya need to talk to Hobie and Ysabel Kid on this one...

Brass can be a major cost with these, perhaps enough that one spends almost as much on brass and dies as on the gun itself. If you're not a nut about odd cartridges and such, I'd recommend the .45-60. .45-70 brass to reform is fairly plentiful and inexpensive and there is .45-60 brass on the market at reasonable prices. Molds for appropriate bullets are also fairly easy to get.

I really like both the 45-75 and the 45-60. The 45-60 is a bit easier and cheaper to do, however.
