Not old compared to many but mine would be a H&R 949 with hand engraved serial numbers with an A prefix. Pretty sure it dates to the '50's.

Kentucky long rifle. Unknown date, eyes can't read the fine engraving on the lock, but since percussion, early 1800's I would guess. Probably 5 ft long. Around 40 cal.
